The Spirit of Surrender - Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra

As we arrive at the season of Autumn nature lets go of its abundant creations and we too are invited to let go of what has been. Often we resist this transition and mourn the end of the warmer days and longer, lighter evenings. However, nature gently reminds us that trees in Autumn do not stubbornly hold on to their leaves because they might need them next year! Instead, old leaves return to the earth to promote and enrich future growth... It's time to compost everything that's ready to fall away!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine Autumn corresponds with the element of Metal. This element encourages us to recognise our own inherent value. When out of balance, we pin our self-worth on external things, like achievements and possessions (objects and people too). We become attached, our identity entwined and therefore we have difficulty in letting go of material things, relationships and even beliefs.

As we work with the lungs and large intestine we aim to restore the balance between being receptive to the new and expansive and releasing the old and stale both physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

This workshop includes:

Basic Acupressure: To open and stimulate the Lung and Large Intestine meridians

Yin Yoga: Supported, long held stretches, targeting the Lung and Large Intestine meridians, to facilitate deep release on a holistic level.

Yoga Nidra: A 35 minute guided relaxation allowing us to surrender that which is no longer serving us on a subconscious and unconscious level.
